This Saturday, March 28, we take to the streets as part of what is expected to be the largest single day of nonviolent protest in American history. Before we share the details for our Joplin gathering, we want to make sure you know exactly what is at stake. Please read what follows. It is important. It is real. And it is why we cannot afford to stay home.

THE MOVEMENT

No Kings Has Become the Largest Sustained Resistance in American History

What began on June 14, 2025 as a single day of defiance has grown into something the country has never seen. When †rump staged a $100 million taxpayer funded military parade on his birthday, more than five million Americans gathered in over 2,000 cities and towns to say: not in our name. In October 2025, seven million people turned out across 2,700 events. This Saturday, March 28, organizers are preparing for more than 3,000 events nationwide, with the goal of surpassing nine million participants. The Twin Cities serve as the flagship event, with Senator Bernie Sanders, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, and Maggie Rogers scheduled to speak and perform.

This is No Kings 3. And it is expected to be the biggest day of peaceful protest in United States history.

The movement is organized by Indivisible and a coalition of more than 200 groups including the ACLU, the American Federation of Teachers, the AFL-CIO, Social Security Works, and 50501. It is nonviolent. It is nonpartisan in its commitment to democracy. And it is growing with every single action this regime takes.

THE CONSTITUTION UNDER ATTACK

†rump Is Taking Powers the Constitution Does Not Give Him

The United States Constitution is unambiguous: the president has no authority over election administration. States and counties run elections. That has been the law of this land since the founding of the republic. In January 2026, that bedrock was broken for the first time in American history.

ƒBI agents in tactical gear arrived at the Fulton County, Georgia elections office and loaded approximately 700 boxes of certified 2020 ballots, tabulator tapes, and voter rolls into trucks, then drove them to ƒBI facilities in Virginia. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard personally oversaw the operation and arranged a phone call between the agents and †rump, who told them they were doing "great work." The warrant authorizing the seizure remains sealed to this day. The public still does not know what crime was alleged.

Legal experts across the political spectrum have warned that this may be a deliberate rehearsal. If courts allow these seizures to stand, the precedent is set: any administration can dispatch federal law enforcement to take physical possession of ballots, under the cover of a sealed warrant and unproven fraud claims, while votes are actively being counted. The 2026 midterms are months away.

†rump has also issued an executive order attempting to seize control of federal election rules, which the Brennan Center called an illegal overhaul of the nation's election systems. Multiple lawsuits have been filed. Courts have already blocked several provisions. And yet the pressure continues.

BALLOT SEIZURES SPREADING

A California Sheriff Seized 650,000 Ballots from an Election Republicans Lost

On March 22, 2026, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican running for governor of California, seized more than 650,000 ballots from county election officials. The election in question was a November 2025 special election on redistricting. Voters approved a measure to redraw congressional district lines, putting Democrats in position to gain up to five House seats in the upcoming midterms. Riverside County voted in favor by a margin of more than 80,000 votes.

Bianco claimed a citizen group had found a discrepancy in the ballot count. Election officials and the California Attorney General both stated the claim was based on misinterpretations of raw, unprocessed data. California Attorney General Rob Bonta called the seizure "unprecedented in both scope and scale" and said it was designed to "sow distrust in our elections." He filed a lawsuit Monday night to stop it.

This is not an isolated incident. It follows the ƒBI raid in Georgia and an ƒBI subpoena for Arizona election records. Democracy Docket, which tracks election law nationwide, called Bianco's seizure the third major attack on elections in just the past few weeks. A political science professor at Sacramento State put it plainly: "It is terrifying, honestly, that the jurisdiction over ballots and election processes and recounts should even be in question."

†rump himself publicly called the Proposition 50 vote a "GIANT SCAM" and on the day of the special election posted on social media that all mail-in ballots in that race were "under very serious legal and criminal review." The sheriff acted. The ballots are gone.

THE LIE AND THE HYPOCRISY

†rump Called Mail-In Voting "Cheating" Then Cast a Mail-In Ballot Himself

On March 23, 2026, †rump stood at a crime roundtable in Memphis, Tennessee and told the audience: "We are the only country that does mail-in voting. Mail-in voting means mail-in cheating. I call it mail-in cheating, and we have to do something about it all."

Every part of that statement is false. The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, a nonpartisan global democracy watchdog, documented 34 countries and territories that allow mail-in voting. Twelve of them allow every single citizen to vote by mail, including Canada, Germany, New Zealand, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Americans have voted by mail since the Civil War. It was created so that soldiers fighting for their country would not lose their right to vote in it.

And here is what makes this moment extraordinary. Public records from Palm Beach County confirm that †rump cast a mail-in ballot in a Florida special election the very same week he stood in Memphis calling it cheating. He also voted by mail in the primary for that same race in January. He voted by mail in 2020 as well, while telling the public that mail-in voting was rife with fraud.

The rules he wants to ban for you are the rules he uses for himself.

†rump has made eliminating mail voting a top legislative priority through the SAVE America Act. Despite his public statements, the bill would not end mail voting entirely. It would make it far more complicated, requiring voters to photocopy photo IDs alongside their ballots. Courts have already challenged provisions of the related executive order. The bill remains stalled in the Senate. But the intent is clear: make it harder to vote, for the people who rely on it most.

Who relies on mail-in voting most? Senior citizens. People with disabilities. Rural voters who live dozens of miles from a polling place. Working people who cannot take time off on a Tuesday. And military families serving overseas, whom †rump has said he wants to exempt, while denying the same right to every other American.

STATE VIOLENCE

Federal Agents Have Killed American Citizens in the Streets

In December 2025, the †rump Regime launched Operation Metro Surge in the Minneapolis area, billing it as the largest immigration enforcement operation in American history. Federal agents made more than 3,000 arrests. A federal judge later found that IÇE violated at least 96 court orders in Minnesota in the first month of 2026 alone. The overwhelming majority of cases brought before the court involved people who were lawfully present in the United States.

On January 7, 2026, IÇE agents fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, a 37 year old mother of three young children, during an enforcement operation. Eyewitnesses stated that federal officers blocked medics and bystanders from rendering aid after she was shot. The Department of Justice declined to open a civil rights investigation into her killing. Instead, the regime attempted to investigate her widow.

On January 24, 2026, Børder På†røl agents shot and killed Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37 year old intensive care nurse who worked for the Veterans Affairs hospital in Minneapolis. Bystander video, verified by Reuters, the BBC, the Wall Street Journal, and the Associated Press, shows Pretti holding only a phone. He had stepped between an agent and a woman the agent had pushed to the ground. At least six officers tackled him, pinned him face down, and shot him approximately ten times in the back. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem immediately called it "domestic terrorism." An internal government review obtained by NPR contradicted that account and made no mention of Pretti attacking officers or threatening anyone with a weapon.

These were American citizens. They were not suspects. They were not criminals. Renee Good was a legal observer supporting her neighbors. Alex Pretti was trying to help a woman who had been knocked down. Both are dead. No federal officer has been charged.

In all, at least nine people died as a result of immigration enforcement in January 2026 alone. Six others died in IÇE detention facilities. One death in custody was ruled a homicide by a county medical examiner. The regime has defended each one.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

This Is What the Theft of Democracy Looks Like

Take a step back and look at all of it together. A president who calls himself a king on social media. A military parade funded by $100 million of taxpayer money, staged on his birthday, modeled on the displays of authoritarian regimes. An executive order attempting to seize control of federal election rules. ƒBI agents hauling certified ballots out of a county election office in boxes, under a warrant that remains sealed. A sheriff who seized 650,000 ballots from an election his side lost. Federal agents killing American citizens in the streets of Minneapolis. A sitting president calling a VA nurse who tried to help a woman on the ground a "would-be assassin."

None of this is normal. None of this has ever happened before in the United States of America. The Brennan Center, the ACLU, Democracy Docket, and constitutional law scholars from across the political spectrum have all said the same thing: this administration is operating outside the limits of the law, and the damage to democratic institutions is real, ongoing, and accelerating.

Steve Bannon has said publicly that IÇE at airports is a "test run" for the 2026 elections. If the administration is willing to seize certified ballots from Georgia, raid a California county, deploy federal intelligence agents to supervise the operation, and kill people who stand in the way of enforcement sweeps, what does it plan to do when November arrives?

That is why this Saturday matters. That is why Joplin matters. That is why you matter.
