The last year and a half has felt like pure madness. The chaos, the division, the exhaustion—Every day there’s more noise, more outrage, more pressure .

Everyday life keeps getting harder and no one in power seems accountable. That’s why it’s time to rise up—Together Across America. You’re getting this email because at some point, we stood shoulder to shoulder. Perhaps organizing to remove the Confederate flag from our high school in the South. Maybe it was fighting for marriage equality with Meet in the Middle in California, or any of the injustices we fought against while organizing with the National Equality March or GetEQUAL. Maybe we’re friends or family—and we haven’t taken action together… yet.

 Today, I’m asking you to join a national effort to push back against those organizing to overtake our country with division, dehumanization, and hate.

For more than a year, organizers across this great nation—from New York to California, and everywhere in between—have been quietly building something different: a neighbor-to-neighbor, community-to-community national network committed to coordinated civic engagement and a shared narrative rooted in hope, action, and change.

Together Across America Podcast

Forty years ago, people across this country came together in a powerful act of unity — Hands Across America — to shine a light on homelessness, poverty, and the mental health crisis impacting millions.

Don’t worry, we’re not asking you to hold hands from Long Beach to New York City.

But we are asking you to do something just as meaningful:

Bring people together where you are.

Think:

• A house party

• A neighborhood potluck

• A mutual aid event

• A community gathering focused on connection and action

Organizers are calling it Hands Across America 2.0. We are calling it an effort to organize locally—Together Across America—to build a campaign & strategy to find your “friendlies” and bring change through civic engagement!

Multiple state based organizers are already planning — and we want YOU to Join the Impact, too.

Together Across America is building a national movement rooted in a simple truth:

We have far more in common than what divides us. And, we are stronger when we build and take action, TOGETHER!
